For the first time the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Szeged organises an Erasmus Week.

Afiqah Izzati Binti Sundusin, a 3rd-year agricultural engineer student has received the National Higher Education Scholarship, which means 40 000 HUF for 10 months. Afiqah could receive the scholarship thanks to her good academic average, her active participation in community life and her successful participation on international conferences.


The booklet is published in three languages; Hungarian, English and Spanish and it was edited by Tamás MONOSTORI Ph.D. and Adrienn SZARVAS Ph.D.

Scope of applicants


As per the amendment of Act CCIV of 2011 On National Higher Education (hereinafter reffered to as ANHE) in force from July 10, 2016, the scholarship is to be named the ‘National Higher Education Scholarship’.

The collaboration between Coursera and the University of Szeged is set to progress the advancement of higher education in Szeged. On January 23, 2023, Coursera's CEO, Jeff Maggioncalda, visited the University of Szeged to formalize the partnership and address the faculty and students in an opening ceremony.

2023-24 Call for Application.


On the 1st of January, the self-financed application platform opened for the fall semester of 23-24 allowing international students to apply to the University of Szeged for the self-financed programs.

The University of Szeged offers a wide range of educational programmes, such as Bachelor’s, Master’s, undivided, PhD (doctoral), as well as postgraduate specialist training programmes.

Students studying in Hungary with the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship received the "Outstanding Study Award" from Miklós Lengyel, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, on 23rd of November, 2022. The University of Szeged and the French University of Réunion Island have signed a letter of intention on international cooperation in French and Hungarian, covering developments in common fields of education and research that will be of benefit to both parties.



The title of International Coordinator of the Year 2022 was also awarded at the 1st Stipendium Hungaricum and Hungarian Diaspora Scholarship Programme Coordinators' Meeting organised by the Tempus Public Foundation in Székesfehérvár. At the prestigious event, Dr. Leona Kovács-Jerney, Head of the International Office for Full time Scholarship Programmes of the Directorate for International Affairs and Public Relations, University of Szeged, was awarded the title of International Coordinator of the year.




The University of Szeged is participating in the EUGLOH event in Lund, Sweden, from 9 to 12 May 2022. Representatives from the five European university associations share their experience, this time focusing on marketing, communication and possible new joint projects.

The UNI 2022 University Ranking was launched at the 22nd EDUCATIO International Education Exhibition in Budapest. By comparing the international rankings of the last three years, the volume aims to provide a credible picture of the Hungarian higher education institutions. The publication takes into account the results of Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) and Times Higher Education (THE). The University of Szeged emerged as the winner in the overall ranking.

Faculty of Agriculture

The National Higher Education Scholarship is offered by the Hungarian Government for University students who are taking part in undergraduate, masters or undivided training program who have been, or were during earlier studies, enrolled for at least two semesters may apply for a National Higher Education Scholarship.

We always try to organize events and courses where the Hungarian and the International students can have fun together. This sport day was one of them. Our students can try themselves in different games and sports and in the end, they could experience Hungarian culinary joy as well.

We celebrated our second international banquet with a great success on 10/10/2018. Our very colourful, international students were really active and made very delicious meals to represent their own gastronomy.

Our students got the possibility to gain insight into crop forcing and to participate in a professional day devoted to the current questions of technology and organization in Szentes.

Our students gained insight into the possibilities of rural development through the example of a rural farm.

Opening dance, dinner, “Stork-oath”, playful game, raffle and having fun until dawn.

This year was the second one to have dancers out of the international students.

Six of our international students participated in the international, so-called "The initiation and development of an innovative business in the field of social entrepreneurship" competition...

Out international students had the chance to try excellent cheeses and half-made cottage cheese at the Boope Kft. where Mr. Sándor Kiss, CEO, and Dr. József Horváth, Dean, guided the students of third year into the depth of the logistics system of small scale milk production in the frame of Logistics.

On the conference Hungarian and foreign students and professionals demonstrate the variegation of arable and horticultural crop production from variety evaluation to biotechnology, from Brazil to Belgium. University of Szeged Faculty of Agriculture, 8th May 2015

The aim of the BSc program is to train agricultural engineers capable of realizing production, leader, management, controlling and organization work in agricultural enterprises of different size and type, completing tasks in enterprises dealing with the processing and marketing of agricultural products and also realizing professional management duties, analysing and controlling commercial, economic processes in connection with agriculture.
