Students from the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Szeged performed excellently in Romania, at the "King Mihai I” University of Life Sciences in Timișoara

On November 13-14, 2025, the 17th edition of the International Scientific Symposium entitled "Young People and Multidisciplinary Research in Applied Life Sciences" was held at the "King Mihai I" University of Life Sciences in Timișoara for students and young researchers. Our faculty was represented by six students and three lecturers in the three sections of the event and at the related ceremony.

In the Biotechnology and Animal Science section, Luyao WANG (third-year), Chiamaka Goodness CHUKWUMA (3rd-year) and Tracy MOGENI (4th-year) gave presentations that won them the Academic Excellence Award and a cash prize of €100. Due to Tracy's illness, her presentation in this section and in the other section was given by Jiao WU.

László BEIER, assistant lecturer at the Institute of Animal Sciences and Wildlife Management also presented a poster in this section. The title of his work was:

László István BEIER, Ferenc JÁNOSKA: Preliminary spatial assessment of the relationship between artificial releases and the current distribution of the Grey Partridge (Perdix perdix L.) in Hungary.


Tracy MOGENI performed excellently in the Management of Sustainable Rural Development section with the following work:

  • Tracy MOGENI, Dr. Adrienn SZARVAS: Seeds of gold: a public consultancy-through-media model for smallholder farmers in Kenya

Her supervisor was Dr. Adrienn SZARVAS, college associate professor.

 

Dénes PARAGI (3rd-year) and Levente PLICHER (3rd-year) presented their work in the poster section:

  • Dénes PARAGI, Levente PLICHER, Dr. Péter JANI: Management of sustainable grazing systems in Morocco: Traditional practices and modern challenges in the context of the "Green Generation" strategy"


Their supervisor was Dr. Péter JANI.

In the Agriculture Research section, Jiao WU (1st-year) excelled with the following work:

In addition to attending the conference sessions, the visiting team also participated in the plenary programs and visited the laboratories of the Faculty of Food Science. After the official programs, they had the opportunity to explore the beautiful city center of Timișoara.
