cordially invites you to the Ceremonial Opening of the 2024/2025 Academic year

At the ceremony Dr. habil. Levente Komarek, Deputy Dean of Education of the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Szeged (SZTE) will present the enrolment data of the Faculty, followed by the welcome speech of Dr. habil. Edit Mikó, Dean of the Faculty. The first-year students then will take their oath and Dr. Edit Mikó, Dean of the Faculty will welcome them as university students with a handshake. Dr. Péter Márki-Zay, Mayor of Hódmezővásárhely, welcomes the first-year students on behalf of the Municipality of Hódmezővásárhely.

Barbara Koncz, a former Agricultural Eengineer student of the Faculty of Agriculture will present her musical performance at the Opening Ceremony.

In the 2024 general admission and additional admission procedure, 285 students were admitted to the Faculty of Agriculture in full-time and part-time undergraduate and graduate programmes, making it one of the most successful admission years in the last 20 years. Among them, 30 international students were successfully admitted in the English-language Bachelor of Agricultural Engineering at the Faculty of Agriculture. From eighteen countries: Turkey, Israel, Egypt, Pakistan, China, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Colombia, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Cameroon, Ghana, Congo, Yemen, Afghanistan, India, Indonesia and Laos.

In addition to undergraduate courses, the Faculty of Agriculture will also launch postgraduate courses from September 2024. The Professional Equine Engineer/Specialist, the Agricultural Valuation Engineer/Specialist and the Plant Protection Engineer have successfully completed their admission procedure, so that 34 more students will start their studies in these courses at our Faculty. In total, 319 new students will start the academic year 2024/2025 at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Szeged.
