The Faculty of Agriculture, University of Szeged in Hódmezővásárhely has been a key element of the centuries-old local agricultural education, representing agricultural higher education in the town for more than 50 years.


Education

Our Faculty offers BSc-level courses in Agricultural and Business Digitalization, Agribusiness and Rural Development Management, Agricultural Engineering, Wildlife Management Engineering (Bachelor of Agricultural Engineering in both Hungarian and English).

In addition to the Bachelor's degree (BSc), there is also the possibility to pursue a Master's degree (MSc) in Agricultural Environmental Management Engineering, Plant Protection, Nature Conservation Engineering and Rural Development Engineering as well as Higher Vocational Training programs in Medicinal Plants and Herbs, Agriculture Engineering and Stud Farming.

Our bachelor's and master's degree and higher vocational training programs are available on a full-time or part-time basis, as well as with state scholarships and self-financing. Our full-time bachelor's and master's degree programs are available in dual and co-operative programs, and our full-time higher vocational training courses are also available in co-operative programs.

For our graduate students and interested graduates, professional development opportunities are offered through specialist training programs developed and launched according to professional updates and emerging needs.

Postgraduate specialist training programs: Sustainable Precision Horticulture, Medicinal Plants and Herbs Production and Processing, Professional Horse Breeding, Agricultural Appraisal, Precision Agricultural Management, Wildlife Management.

 

Practical training

Our Faculty places a strong emphasis on practical education. The practical training of our students is based - depending on the study program - on our Pilot farm, agricultural enterprises, administrative offices, professional organisations, hunting companies and small farms in the region.

The Weekly practices are coordinated by colleagues at the Takács Ferenc Practical Training Centre.
