The soil profile of Hódmezővásárhely became the Soil of the Year in 2023, in Hungary.

The competition was organized by the Hungarian Pedology Corporation.

The soil profile was dreamt by Júlia Hupuczi Ph.D., associate professor of the Faculty of Agriculture and it was presented to the visitors by her at the 30^th Animal husbandry and Farming Fair in Hódmezővásárhely.

A monolith is made from the soil profile of Hódmezővásárhely, which will be exhibited on the World Soil Day in the Ministry of Agriculture this December.
