cordially invites you to the Ceremonial Opening of the 2025/2026 Academic year.

Venue: Town Hall, Ceremonial Hall

(6800 Hódmezővásárhely, Kossuth tér 1.)

At the ceremony Dr. habil. Levente Komarek, Deputy Dean of Education of the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Szeged (SZTE) will present the enrolment data of the Faculty, followed by the welcome speech of Dr. habil. Edit Mikó, Dean of the Faculty. The first-year students then will take their oath and Dr. Edit Mikó, Dean of the Faculty will welcome them as university students with a handshake. Dr. Péter Márki-Zay, Mayor of Hódmezővásárhely, welcomes the first-year students on behalf of the Municipality of Hódmezővásárhely.

At the event, we will also present anniversary certificates and congratulate our students who have been awarded the National Higher Education Scholarship, as well as our teaching colleagues who have received new appointments.

Barbara Koncz, a former Agricultural Eengineer student of the Faculty of Agriculture will present her musical performance at the Opening Ceremony.

At the end of the 2025 general and supplementary admission procedure, as well as the international admission procedure, 253 students were admitted to the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Szeged for undergraduate and higher education vocational training, either full-time or part-time. Among them, 20 international students were successfully admitted to the English-language undergraduate program in agricultural engineering at the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Szeged. They come to study with us from China, Laos, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, India, Bangladesh, Algeria, Morocco, Egypt, and Ghana.

In addition to undergraduate programs, we will also launch postgraduate programs in September 2025, so the 2025/2026 academic year can begin with approximately 300 new students.
