67 graduates celebrated with their family members and friends on the 65th Graduation Ceremony of the Faculty.
At the ceremony, students got their BA degrees in agricultural engineering, in wildlife engineering and in rural development. Some finished their post-graduate education in precision agriculture, plant protection and in wildlife management while others finished their MA studies in agricultural engineering and rural development receiving their degrees at the Ferenc Bessenyei Theatre in Hódmezővásárhely.
Many of those who have just graduated will receive not their first but their second, or even their third diploma – said Edit MIKÓ Ph.D., in her speech. At the same time, the challenges of the coming decades will be the same for us, that is the changing of the climate – added the dean.
After the dean’s welcome, awards and recognitions were presented.
Kata Sára LÁBAS, assistant lecturer of the Institute of Economics and Rural Development, received the Discipuli Pro Facultate award in recognition of her self-sacrificing community work and outstanding academic results.
Jargal GANZORIG, agricultural engineer student, received the Dean’s Certificate of Appreciation for her outstanding results, her successful participation in academic competitions and conferences and her community work.
Dean’s Certificate of Appreciation was also given to Violetta TÓTH, assistant lecturer of the Institute of Animal Sciences and Wildlife Management and to Dóra KAKUK-BAGITA, secretarial officer of the Dean’s office.
After the engineer’s oath, Márta SZÉLL professor, vice-rector of the University of Szeged, handed over the engineering diplomas and then, Edit MIKÓ, dean of the Faculty, accepted the graduates as engineers with a handshake.
Márta SZÉLL professor welcomed the recent graduates in her speech.
Wishing them happiness in their professional and personal lives, she thanked the instructors who helped the young people with their knowledge and experience in the process of becoming an engineer, as well as the parents and family members who supported the students in obtaining their diplomas.
Dr. Péter MÁRKI-ZAY, the mayor of Hódmezővásárhely, emphasized in his speech that the graduation ceremony is an important reminder every year of what an honor and joy it is for our city to have agricultural higher education in here.
Ádám TARI, agricultural engineer student, said goodbye on behalf of the graduated engineers.
At the Ceremony, our alumni students who obtained their higher education in the year 1963, 60 years ago in the legal predecessor of the Faculty, received their Diamond diplomas.
The jubilee diplomas were presented and handed over by Márta SZÉLL professor, strategic vice-rector and Edit MIKÓ Ph.D., dean.
At the end of the ceremony, the graduating class paid tribute to the ALMA MATER with a ribbon attached to the Faculty flag.
